Long time no blog .... :)
Just back from my french class and before that, a trip to kochi .. went to spend time with my cus meera since i probably wont be seeing her for a long long time, my course and hers being exxtttrremely busy ....
since i was in kochi without any definate plan i tagged along to a wedding in trivandrum , and got a chance to meet many cousins, uncles etc.. a good thing ...
french is a VERY weird language. Infact, the teacher in our class hinted that they like it that way.
For example :
1. Several words were initially like english, similar spelling and pronunciation etc , but they intentionally complicated it so that it wouldnt be like english !! who does that?! .. mad ppl ... and ive also heard that theyr extremly snobbish and v particular abt ppl speaking their language.
Two words for them : Global Village . either that or Free Market.. Best of luck with that ...
2. I prefer german. the numbers make sense. it's like english. that may seem like a biased point of view, but read on...
In german , like english eleven and twelve are different from the other numbers between 10 and 20, as in they have nothing to do with 1 and 2.
In french, till abt 16 it follows one rule and for some reason 17 .. follow another.
German : Like eng, after 20 and till kazillion all the numbers follow a ceratin pattern. (As in twenty one = ein(one) und(and) zwanzig(twenty))
Even hundred is a good old "hundert". All sensible languages have this rule, hindi, tamil and malayalam do anyway.
In Bloody Francais: Till about sixty some order is maintained. But after 70 it all goes berserk!! Its like they forgot what seven eight and nine are!!!
70 is sixty and ten!! 71 is sixty and 11!! u get the idea... At this point I gave them the benefit of the doubt, they probably had an ancient "sexadecimal"
number system or something..... wait......
eighty is no not eight(derivative)ten nor even 60 + 20!!! it is 4 * 20!!!
My mouth at this time touched the floor and i think the girl next to me noticed... I was full of mixed feelings towards this language, having been forced to learn it..
Im sure that in a few years when im signing a bloody cheque for something thousand eighty two euros ill screw it up!!
DIE FRENCHIES!!
Anyway, Im back now and things look much saner. .. I will now proceed to play abss for abt an hour or so...
Songs:
James Jamerson - Ill search for on utube, one of my fav bass artists, this guy ahs soul.
Limp Bizkit - Almost over (love the song) and any other song with good bass... Ok it doesnt have a "great" bass line. wuite a simple one but with a good tone...
Eric Clapton - Layla and cocaine, which ive already started working on, it has weird bass lines.. ive started making my own versions of it...
